Interior designer Roger Thomas collaborated with Steve Wynn on the hotelier’s own residence, a duplex villa on the grounds of the Wynn Las Vegas. In the master bedroom, Thomas installed an inviting chaise sectional whose graphic pattern contrasts with the pale wool carpet and the sapphire silk-upholstered walls. (November 2010)

Interior designer Victoria Hagan decorated an 8,000-square-foot Shingle Style summer house on Nantucket for a couple and their three children. The living room features striped pillows on white-duck-covered furniture, blue cashmere throws, and a custom-made blue-and-white-plaid rug (“I adjusted its scale and pattern to the room,” she says); breezy white draperies frame the French doors, which open to views of the harbor. “I think of my home as my showplace,” says Glasgow art dealer Anthony Ferrie, but, he adds, “comfort can never be secondary.” He outfitted his bedroom in a blue-and-white palette (he finds the two colors very restful); the plaid curtains and regal framed prints lend the space a cosseted atmosphere.
